PRE-LEARNING RESOURCE
Learners will be able to identify and describe key historical landmarks, understand their significance, and experience multimedia and interactive elements that create educational eLearning sessions.
Take a virtual journey through some of the world's most iconic historical landmarks. This interactive project showcases how multimedia elements, practical activities, and engaging storytelling can be leveraged to create immersive learning experiences and build foundational knowledge ahead of a museum field trip or social studies unit.
Type: elearning- virtual experience
Client: Middle School Social Studies Program
Use case: Created as a pre-learning resource, this module helps students become familiar with significant landmarks before visiting a museum exhibit. It reinforces classroom learning through interactive exploration and can be used independently or as part of a teacher-facilitated lesson to deepen engagement with history and culture
Date: June 2024

Skill 5: A.I. Image Creation
Skill 6: Storyboarding
The project began by defining clear learning objectives and outcomes, followed by in-depth research on historical landmarks to ensure accurate and engaging content. Detailed storyboards and scripts were developed to map out the structure, interactive flow, and learner experience for each section. Visual assets and multimedia elements were created using tools like Adobe Photoshop, Canva, and Midjourney to bring the virtual tour to life.
The development phase was carried out in Articulate Storyline, where each section of the virtual tour was built using interactive slides and branching navigation. Custom visuals were created using Midjourney to represent historical landmarks in an engaging and age-appropriate style. Audio narration was added using Storyline’s built-in text-to-speech feature to enhance accessibility and guide learners through the content. Animations, imagery, and multimedia layers were thoughtfully integrated to keep learners engaged and support visual storytelling throughout the experience.
The final module was published as a SCORM-compliant package and designed for easy integration into an LMS or classroom platform. Its responsive design allows for use on various devices, making it accessible for both in-class learning and independent student exploration. The virtual tour format was tailored to support middle school social studies instruction and can be deployed as a pre-field trip resource or a digital companion to museum exhibits
As an informational resource, the module’s effectiveness was evaluated through educator feedback and informal learner reflections on usability and content relevance. In a classroom or museum setting, success would be measured by how well the module supports engagement, sparks curiosity, and prepares students for deeper exploration during related lessons or field trips. Feedback gathered would guide future enhancements to improve clarity, interactivity, and alignment with educational goals.
Creating an immersive, virtual experience within the constraints of Storyline required extra creativity. I learned how to layer visual and audio elements effectively to simulate movement and exploration. If I had more time, I would have added optional narration toggles and embedded video walkthroughs for even more realism.
